ILEA Napa Sonoma Board of Directors
Hello! Our Board members run the operations for our ILEA chapter. We create educational programs, networking events, membership drives and encourage opportunities and promotion of events industry professionalism in the Napa-Sonoma and Northern California area. For more information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year our theme is Enrich, Excite, Experience. More to come soon! Check out our Notes from the President for the latest news.
Heather Viera, President
Heather Vieira has worked in the hospitality industry for over 17 years. She started her career doing marketing and events for a local restaurant chain. After working there for over 10 years, she decided to try her career in hotels. She worked as the Catering and Sales Department at the Sheraton Hotel for about 4 years. After having children, she decided that working events wasn’t the right fit for her. She then joined the Encore Events team about 6 years ago as the Business Development Manager. She has also been a part of ILEA Napa Sonoma for over 8 years, attending events and in the last three years has been on the Board as the VP of Programs and Education and now the current President. She is excited to oversee the chapter, while meeting and introducing people in the Events Industry.
Brooke Altman, Immediate Past President
Brooke has over 20 years of hospitality experience, with the last 15 years of her career spent focusing specifically on event planning. After graduating college with a degree in Communications and Media, Brooke decided to move from her home state of Connecticut to San Francisco and worked for a catering company for 3 years, before finally settling in wine country. She was hired as the Director of Events for Viansa Winery, where she spent almost 9 years planning weddings and events. Brooke then decided it was time to pursue her dreams of having her own event planning business and Orchard Avenue events was launched in 2014.
“I always wanted to have my own business and get the chance to really get to know my clients well. After planning hundreds of weddings and events at Viansa, I realized that I wanted to dive even deeper into event planning and really form a connection with my clients. It’s crucial to get to know your clients well, so you can help create a wedding that truly reflects who they are as a couple. Now with Orchard Avenue Events, I plan 8-10 weddings per year, in addition to planning Sonoma’s premier wine and food event, Taste of Sonoma, allowing me to focus and spend time on creating the perfect experience, unique to each of my clients.”
In her spare time, Brooke loves to go wine tasting, try new restaurants, cook and garden.
Madeline Reid – President-Elect
Madeleine was born into the event and hospitality industry, a product of two restaurateurs. She began her career working for a luxury catering company which taught her the intricacies of planning events, and also afforded her the opportunity to travel and participate in international food and wine shows. After years of honing her craft on catering side of the event industry, Madeleine ventured into the wine business. Now, her enthusiasm for luxury events and wine aligns well with her position in the Events Department at Treasury Wine Estates, where she designs custom event experiences for clients, seeing the event from beginning to fruition. Madeleine has been an ILEA member for two years and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors.
Pilar Mustafa – VP, Programs
Anyone who meets Pilar will see that her passion for events is all consuming. Her ultra-organized personality combined with energy and creativity is what her couples appreciate her most.
With over ten years of event experience, including corporate event planning and production in New York followed by winery event and wedding planning in Napa and Sonoma, Pilar has a wealth of professional experience which sets her apart in the event industry.
Pilar is fiercely loyal, unapologetically enthusiastic (and honest), and believes trust is the ultimate key to success in any relationship. She has been a member of the ILEA Napa-Sonoma chapter for 2 years and served on the events committee since 2015.

Through her services, she likes to make her clients’ days wonderful and unforgettable.
Betty was formerly the Events Manager at Garden Valley Ranch in Petaluma, where she promoted venue sales, executed marketing, and smelled the roses. Prior to the events industry, Betty was an Executive Assistant at Morrison & Foerster LLP. Betty graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara. She also holds a Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from San Francisco State University.
Betty lives in Sonoma county with her family and a chihuahua named Twinkie. She loves wine.
Jerry Schultz – VP, Membership
Jerry is owner/operator of Schultz Entertainment Experience. He has been running a successful DJ entertainment company for over 30 years with an A+ Rating from the Better Business Bureau. Jerry has a radio background and took piano and viola lessons for many years. It is a passion of his to use his voice, musical knowledge, and talent to create and deliver special moments to put the WOW into each event and create the perfect soundtrack for each celebration.
He attends ILEA meetings to develop business connections, many of which turn into great friendships. His advice for prospective members: Definitely join and become an active member. “I have been blessed with business that I would not have acquired if I were not an ILEA member. It took some time to develop those relationships, so be patient.” The more involved you are and the more events you attend, the more business opportunities will come your way.
Jerry has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He loves old radio and TV, along with classic movies.
Colleen Patten – Director
Colleen loves events, wine and all things hospitality! After her first attended event in Wine Country she knew she wanted to be a part of that world. Graduating in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration from San Francisco State University (Woot! Woot! Parks & Recs!) she headed back to Sonoma to start at Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards as the Hospitality Coordinator. She now works as the Private Event Manager and is loving every minute. Weddings are lovely and truly special moments to be involved with and she loves to dive into team days and overall celebrations to make for a fun and relaxing days at the winery. Her priority is customization and called “The Yes Girl” around the office.
Colleen is the Private Event Manager at Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards.
Donna Carroll – Director

She discovered how much she enjoys sharing her love of wine with others and never left! Ken Sipes – Director
Kenneth Sipes Cinema
401 Center Street, Suite 77 · Healdsburg, CA 95448
Ken found his way to the Sonoma/Napa region from Santa Barbara when the winery he was working for, Artiste, decided to open a second winery in Healdsburg. A few years later, Sonoma county became home and it was time for “What’s next?” One day while sitting at the computer, he went down the rabbit hole called Google and what did he find? He stumbled on a wedding video and felt instantly compelled to create films for couples on one of the happiest days of their lives. Some would say it was a stumble into a career… others would say everything up to that point was preparing him for this next adventure and the lasting friendships made along the way.
Sometimes we go through life wondering if we make a difference… for the last 4 years, Ken has found a way to share his passion and create fun little time machines so future generations can experience those that came before. And, if you want to hear a crazy story, ask him about the time he landed his Hot Air Balloon in a tree.
MacKensey Giusto – Director
MacKensey’s background is in theatrical costume design so a passion for fabric is something that comes naturally to her. Native to Sonoma, Wine Country has always been home. After graduating with a BFA in Costume Design from University of Colorado, she found her way back to Sonoma. MacKensey was immediately taken with the wedding industry as an outlet to create beauty. She spent 3 years working with PoppyStone Floral Design, giving her the unique opportunity to develop her understanding of design in a new medium. While executing countless events, she was able to understand the world of events from the inside out. At the end of 2014, MacKensey joined the team at La Tavola Fine Linen as a Sales Executive for Sonoma and Marin Counties. Surround by beautiful fabric every day, MacKensey continues to be inspired and impressed with the level of events her clients produce.
MacKensey is thrilled to be on the Board of the ILEA Napa Sonoma chapter and serves on the Events Committee as she starts her 2nd year a member. She lives in Sonoma with her husband, Nick. The newlyweds can often be found en route to Tahoe for a quick weekend away, working on a house project, hosting friends for homemade pizza night, or packing up for their next adventure abroad.
