Brooke Altman, Orchard Avenue Events –
In 2003, while working in sales for a wine distributor and as a restaurant manager in Connecticut, Brooke decided that California was the place she wanted to be! She packed herself up and moved to San Francisco in search of her dream job. Brooke worked as an Event Coordinator for Knights Catering for three years, before moving to Sonoma to work as the Director of Events at Viansa Winery. It was at Viansa where she became an ILEA member, and has been one for 9 years now. Brooke launched her own event planning company in 2014, Orchard Avenue Events, focusing on planning gorgeous wine country weddings and food & wine centered events.

Greetings from the President
Hello ILEA Napa-Sonoma Community and Happy Winter!
Can you believe that it is the Winter
already and the Holidays are upon us? We have definitely had a challenging and
unpredicted end to October and high event season. While you never think you will be the community that suffers
such devastation, the fires experienced by Napa & Sonoma Counties in
October have brought about the very best of our communities. As you know the
events industry will be managing the loss of many beautiful event properties.
In the last months, events have been transitioned to other properties
unaffected by smoke and damage or rescheduled completely for 2018. In addition
to this, as a Community, we will look to share that Wine Country is still open
for events. While we have experienced true loss in many parts of the counties,
there are still nearly 1,000 venues between the two counties to host
spectacular wine country events. We will continue to share this message via
social media outlets.
This sense of obligation to our community will continue well
into the future as people rebuild both their personal and professional
lives. We fully intend to champion these businesses and venues the moment they
are rebuilt. With that said, I wanted to give everyone more information on
the Search Foundation https://searchfoundation.org/donate/
This is an amazing organization that raises funds to support everyone in our
industry during hard times. If you are wanting to donate or want to know how to
help, you can donate to the foundation and the funds will go directly to our
industry friends who have been affected by the fire. If you are someone who has
been affected, then you can apply for some financial support. Please contact me
for more information and check out the website.
Wine Country is
open for business. So please continue to come visit, eat and drink in our
beautiful region. On behalf of the ILEA Napa-Sonoma Chapter, we are here
to support you while we move on from this tragic event and rebuild our community!
